My Story and The $Rugged Coin

A little over two years ago, my life was falling apart. I was trapped in alcoholism. I nearly lost everything that mattered to me — my marriage, my career, my relationship with my kids, and even my own life. On July 17, 2023, I made the decision to get sober. It was the hardest step I have ever taken, but also the most important. Every day since then has been a fight, but also a victory.

Sobriety taught me that being “rugged” is not about looking tough on the outside. It is about being scarred, broken, and tested, but still choosing to stand up and take the next step forward. It is about strength that comes from struggle.

I created The $Rugged Coin as a symbol of that. It is not just my story. It is for anyone who has been knocked down but refuses to stay there. We all have struggles — addiction, loss, failure, heartbreak — but those challenges can shape us into something stronger.
